SVTa works to help local communities improve their livelihood and conserve natural resources found in their ecosystems, restore degraded land, combat desertification, and protect biological resources at the local and national levels 1. SVTa uses funds it gets from donors and other sources to implement projects under SVTa 1. SVTa will promote innovation and renovation through a partnership with government, local communities, industries, scientists, institutions, organizations, and individuals 1. The current demand for environmental services is increasing while the quality of our natural environment is declining. Marginalized communities need to be empowered through access to quality education, economic empowerment, and management of the ecosystem they live in. It is therefore very important to include them in development agendas.
